How can I get a report of totals in the chart of accounts?

How can I generate a report that shows the current totals for the chart of accounts as well as a report for the totals during a specific time period for the chart of accounts?

  Currently this isn't available.  This is something we'll be offering as part of our new 3rd party accounting integration though.  That's slated out around Q2 this year.  Thanks!
