Track Property Inspections

We perform routine property inspections.  I would like to be able to track when each property inspection occurred and either attach a file or write details about the inspections.  It would also be nice to be able to schedule, or set alerts, for the next property inspection date.

  Couldn't this be done as a Work Order?

  It certainly could, and you can even add custom fields to work orders from your settings page.  That being said, at some point, we'll likely introduce something along these lines and possibly in conjunction with work orders.  I'd highly recommend utilizing the work order system though.  You could even create a custom status for your property inspections.

  So then to initiate an inspection, as opposed to a maintenance request which is initiated by the tenant, I as the manager/inspector would initiate the work order, and an email request would automatically go to the tenant to arrange for a time to do the inspection?  How would I make that happen?

  Hey Jay, yes, everything except for the email request for a time.  Although you could add this as a message as part of the work order, and they can follow back up with a response.  You could then setup the availability schedule field for the work order and populate it accordingly.
