In some cases you may receive an error for "Unknown Bank Account" or "Invalid Bank Account", or something along these lines. While this error might be a little confusing, it does mean that the system is unable to identify the bank account.
RentPost does a validation lookup on all routing and account numbers used for creating a payment profile. This is done so that we can make sure the details added are indeed correct. We don't want to have a case where you've accidentally input incorrect routing and account number details, and processed the payment only to have it bounce a couple days later! If that happens you might be late on your rent! That wouldn't be good.
So, these protections are there to help ensure that we're getting the correct details that we know will process over the ACH network.
If you receive one of these errors, please contact your bank to verify that you have the correct routing and account number. Keep in mind that some account numbers have leading and trailing zeros. Those are required and important.
