How to use QuickBooks with RentPost
RentPost allows you to import transactions into QuickBooks.
Export your transactions from:
1. Accounting > Received
2. Accounting > Paid
The page will display a comprehensive list of all payment transactions.
You may have noticed that the file we're working with is an XLS file. Because XLS files aren't supported by QuickBooks, let's convert them to CSV.

Exporting to QuickBooks
After creating our file, we must choose which account to which we want to add it.
Please remember: You'll need to be aware of the date of the earliest existing transaction in the account to avoid inputting duplicates. Please also keep in mind that the maximum file size is 350 KB. Adjust the date range and download transactions in smaller batches if the file is too large.
- Go to Bookkeeping or Accounting, then select Chart of accounts
- Find the account you want to upload the transactions into.
- Under Action, select View register ▼
- Find and write down the date of the oldest transaction. Usually, the oldest transaction is the opening balance.
- For Accounts Connected to Online Banking -
- Go to Bookkeeping > Transactions > Bank transactions
- Select the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions.
- Select the Link account ▼ dropdown and then Upload from file.
- Select Drag and drop or select files and select the file you downloaded from your bank. Then select Continue.
- In the QuickBooks account ▼ dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then select Continue.
- Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then select Continue.
- Select the transactions you would like to import. Then select Continue.
- Select Yes.
When you accept your transactions, select Done.
- For Accounts not connected to Online Banking -
Follow these steps if you don't plan to connect your account or your bank can't connect to QuickBooks:

- In the QuickBooks account ▼ dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then select Continue.
If you're new to QuickBooks, you may not have an account to upload the transactions into. If you don't see one, select Add New ▼ from the dropdown to create a new bank account.
- Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then select Continue.
- Select the transactions you would like to import. Then select Continue.
- Select Yes.
- When you accept your transactions, select Done.
** You may also add/upload files to the Receipts, All Sales, and Expenses tab **
Now that your transactions are in QuickBooks, it's time to match and categorize them. The transactions go into your accounts after you review them.
QuickBooks has now logged all of your transactions! Reconciling them is the last stage. This guarantees that your books are accurate and that no transactions have been recorded twice.
